Privacy Policy
Effective August 30, 2026 · Last updated October 12, 2026
ProfitWire, LLC (“ProfitWire,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides inventory, cost-basis, expense, and sales reporting software for trading card sellers through our website, web application, desktop application, and mobile applications (together, the “Services”). This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can delete it.
ProfitWire is bookkeeping and business record-keeping software. ProfitWire does not provide tax, accounting, investment, banking, lending, insurance, or legal advice.
1. Information we collect
Account and authentication information
When you create an account we collect your email address, a display name if you provide one, and authentication credentials. Sign-in is provided by a managed authentication service. Passwords are stored in hashed form by that provider; we do not have access to your plaintext password. If you sign in with a third-party identity provider, we receive your email address and basic profile identifier from that provider. Your sign-in session is stored in your browser’s local storage and is ended when you sign out or delete your account.
Business records you enter
The core of the Services is the business data you create: inventory items and quantities, card and product details, acquisition and cost-basis amounts, rip/break session records, sales and order records, marketplace fees and shipping costs, expenses, notes, and the reports generated from those records. This information is stored under your account and is used to operate the features you asked for.
Images and camera use
Features that capture or identify cards may use your device camera, with your permission, to take images. On Android, camera access is requested only when you use a capture feature and can be revoked at any time in your device settings; captured photos are not saved to your device’s photo library. Images you capture are uploaded over an encrypted connection and stored on our servers under your account, where they are used to identify cards and to attach photos to your inventory and listing records.
Card identification is performed by an AI processing provider on our behalf (the Lovable AI Gateway, which runs Google Gemini models). Uploaded card images are transmitted to that provider solely to return an identification result; we do not permit our AI provider to use your images to train its models. Images are not processed solely on-device.
Connected marketplace data
If you connect an eBay seller account, we receive the data that connection authorizes — typically your listings, orders, transaction amounts, fees, shipping details, and related account identifiers — so we can synchronize your sales and reconcile true profit. We store the access credentials needed to maintain the connection; they are encrypted before storage and are never sent to your browser.
You can disconnect eBay from ProfitWire on the web or in the mobile app. Disconnecting stops future syncing and deletes the eBay access credentials stored by ProfitWire; your inventory, purchases, sales and financial history stay available. To remove ProfitWire’s authorization directly at eBay, revoke access in your eBay account settings.
Purchase and subscription information
Paid plans are billed either through Stripe (web purchases) or, for mobile installs, through Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your full card number — card details are handled directly by Stripe or Google. We receive and store subscription status information — plan, trial state, renewal or expiration dates, and purchase/order identifiers — including Google Play purchase tokens that we verify server-side with Google, plus real-time status notifications Google Play sends us when a subscription renews, is cancelled, is refunded, or lapses.
Device, diagnostic and security information
When you use the Services we automatically receive standard technical information such as IP address, device and operating system type, app or browser version, timestamps, and error and crash diagnostics. We use this to keep the Services running, to detect abuse, and to debug problems.
Support communications
If you email us or submit a support request, we keep your message, your email address, and anything you choose to include so we can respond and maintain a support history.
Website analytics and the acquisition cookie
On our public website (getprofitwire.com) we use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic: how many people visit, which pages they view, which site or campaign referred them, and which calls to action they click. We use it for site and marketing measurement only. We have not enabled Google Signals, advertising personalization, or remarketing features, and we do not send Google your email address, your ProfitWire user ID, your marketplace identifiers, or any of your business or financial data.
We also set a first-party cookie on getprofitwire.com that contains a single randomly generated identifier. It lasts 90 days. It is not derived from your name, email, IP address, device fingerprint, or any other information about you, and it holds nothing else. Its only purpose is to let us tell whether a visit to our website later became a ProfitWire account, so we can measure which marketing channels work. Campaign information (the referring site and any utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content and utm_term values in the link you arrived from, the page you first landed on, and when) is stored separately in your own browser’s local storage — once for your first visit and, separately, for your most recent campaign-tagged visit — and the same limited fields are kept in a second first-party cookie, also lasting 90 days, shared with app.getprofitwire.com so a signup can be credited to the campaign that brought you. We record only those fields and ignore any other parameters in the address. We do not currently display a cookie consent banner. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings, and blocking analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the site.
2. TikTok Shop Integration
Sellers may authorize ProfitWire to connect to their TikTok Shop account. When you do, we process the authorized seller account information and connection identifiers that TikTok provides for that connection. TikTok authorization credentials are encrypted before they are stored in our database, and access to them is restricted to authorized server processes; they are never sent to your browser.
Automated TikTok order synchronization is not currently enabled. If order synchronization is introduced, the order data we process may include, as you authorize, order identifiers, products, quantities, transaction amounts, fulfillment status, and shipping information. Customer personal information will only be processed for legitimate integration purposes disclosed in this policy.
You can disconnect TikTok Shop from ProfitWire at any time. Disconnecting removes the connection credentials stored by ProfitWire. You can also separately revoke ProfitWire’s authorization through TikTok Seller Center.
3. Product Analytics
On our public website we use Google Analytics 4, a third-party service operated by Google, to measure aggregate traffic and marketing performance, together with the first-party acquisition identifier and campaign fields described in section 1. Google processes page views, referring sites or campaigns, call-to-action clicks, and standard device and browser information on our behalf. The website analytics identifier is a random value, but Google Analytics also receives information such as your IP address as part of normal operation, so we do not describe this measurement as fully anonymous. We do not send Google your email address, ProfitWire user ID, marketplace identifiers, or business or financial data.
Within the application, we use the device, diagnostic, and security information described in section 1 to operate, secure, and improve the Services. We do not sell analytics data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Why we use your information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you.
- To store, display, calculate, and report on the business records you enter.
- To identify cards from images you capture and attach them to your records.
- To synchronize and reconcile data from marketplace accounts you connect.
- To provision paid plans and trials and verify purchases with the billing provider.
- To provide support and respond to your requests.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose errors, and improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only in these situations:
- Service providers that operate the Services on our behalf, each limited to processing your information only to provide its service to us:
- Supabase — cloud hosting, database storage, and user authentication.
- Stripe — web payment and subscription processing.
- Google Play Billing (Google) — mobile subscription processing, purchase verification, and subscription status notifications.
- Lovable AI Gateway (Google Gemini models) — AI processing that identifies cards from images you upload.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google) — aggregate website traffic and marketing measurement on our public website, without advertising or remarketing features.
- Email delivery providers — to send account, support, and service emails.
- Services you connect, such as eBay or TikTok Shop, and only to the extent needed to carry out the connection you authorized.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ProfitWire, our users, or the public.
- Business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your account and business records for as long as your account is active so your historical inventory, cost basis, and sales history remain usable. If you delete specific records, they are removed from your account. When you delete your account, a 30-day grace period begins before the scheduled purge, during which you can sign back in to cancel the deletion; after the grace period ends, your account, profile, uploaded card images, and business records are permanently deleted. Marketplace connection credentials, including eBay and TikTok Shop credentials, are deleted when you disconnect that integration. Financial and transaction records are retained in pseudonymized form — detached from your identity — for up to seven years where required for tax, accounting, legal, or contractual reasons, and security audit records may be retained for the same purpose. Deletion from backups and logs follows the retention schedules of our hosting and infrastructure providers, after which that data expires.
7. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your ProfitWire account yourself at any time: in the mobile app, go to Settings and choose “Delete account”; on the web, use the account deletion page at app.getprofitwire.com/delete-account while signed in. You may also email support@getprofitwire.com from the address on your account with the subject line “Account Deletion Request.”
Deletion works as follows: your account enters a 30-day grace period during which you can sign back in to cancel the deletion. When the grace period ends, your account credentials, profile, uploaded card images, and business records are permanently deleted. Financial and transaction records are pseudonymized — detached from your identity — and retained for up to seven years for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. As part of account deletion, we disconnect connected eBay access and delete the eBay access credentials stored by ProfitWire. To also remove ProfitWire’s authorization at eBay, revoke access in your eBay account settings. We also end your active sign-in sessions, cancel any active web (Stripe) subscription, and delete your authentication account. Deleting your ProfitWire account does not automatically cancel a subscription purchased through Google Play — cancel that in your Google Play account first.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including HTTPS for every connection, database access rules and server-side checks that keep each account’s records separate, hashed password storage handled by our managed authentication provider, encryption of marketplace access credentials before we store them, and server-side verification of purchases. Our database and storage provider encrypts stored data at rest as part of its managed service. We keep written procedures for handling security incidents and will notify you of an incident affecting your personal data as required by applicable law. ProfitWire does not currently hold SOC 2, ISO 27001, or any other security certification.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access. For more detail, see our Security page and Information Security Policy.
9. Privacy requests
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Most of your data is directly viewable and editable inside the application, and you can delete your account yourself as described in section 7.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, email support@getprofitwire.com from the address on your account and describe your request. We will verify your identity using the email associated with your account before acting on it. We aim to respond within 30 days, subject to applicable law and successful verification.
10. Children’s privacy
ProfitWire is a business tool intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us.
11. United States and governing context
ProfitWire, LLC is based in Michigan, United States, and the Services are operated and hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Services change. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the application or by email.
